Telecommunications company, Globacom, ‘shook’ the entertainment scene in Ghana with the second edition of the Glo Mega Music Concert at the Fantasy Dome in La; a suburb of Accra, Ghana last weekend on Saturday. The main purpose of the initiative was to reward Glo users for their loyalty by giving them the best of live African music from currently reigning African artistes from both Nigeria and Ghana.
The second part of the musical trilogy of the Glo Mega Music Concert saw a large number of both Ghanaian and Nigerian music lovers jam to the likes of Wizkid, Stonebwoy, Samini, Kofi Kinaata, Techno, Yemi Alade, MzVee and Diamond Platnumz. The audience were treated to vibrant performances supported by live band music coupled with timely DJ mixes. The overall audience response to the event was impressive as fans cheered the favourite music acts with excitement. Some VVIP guests were spotted to be standing on their seats just to get a glimpse of the action on stage. The event was a beautiful chemistry between Ghanaian and Nigerian acts as multiple award winning artistes Wizkid and Samini performed their hit single together on stage to signify a bond between the two West African countries. Also, the hosts, Nigerian Comedian Gordon’s and Ghanaian television presenter Nana Aba Anamoah, gave an entertaining presentation by blending comedy with short but entertaining drills.
The final part of the Glo Mega Music is scheduled to come of in October this year and will be a combination of both music and comedy and will feature all the musical and comedy acts who were present at both the first and second edition of the musical trilogy. Head of Business at Glo Mobile,Uche Ojo, promised that the fifth event holding on October 20 “will be the much-expected icing on the cake as it will be the talk of the town for some time to come.”
Globacom gave out prizes to randomly selected winners of short quizzes on the services of the network as part of the loyalty promotion and asked users to continue patronizing the Glo network as they are the best especially in terms of data.
