Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) Ghana, on August 16, officially launched the Seventh Season of its flagship platform ¨MTN Hitmaker¨- a reality show designed to enable underground music acts showcase their craft – to talented young Ghanaians who desire a career in the music industry.
The event which took place at the MTN House in Accra, witnessed thrilling performances from CJ Biggerman, Freda Rhymes, Yaw Berk, etc and was graced by top entertainment industry players such as celebrated beat maker, Kaywa, Giovanni Caleb of Starr Fm amongst others.
Since the launch of MTN Hitmaker in 2012, the reality has successfully produced music talents such as Naterial, Koo Ntakra, Togbe, Kidi, Kurlsongz, and Freda Rhymez.
Currently, a number of hot acts in the Ghanaian music industry today are all products from the MTN Hitmaker- Music Reality TV show; Kidi, Kuami Eugene, and Freda Rhymez.
To register for this year´s MTN Hitmaker show, interested participants are required to download the MTN Hitmaker app on the Google Play Store, to upload their songs for consideration.
Registration will be opened for three weeks, during which applications will be reviewed by renowned music producers, who would shortlist weekly winners for the semi-final stage of the competition.
Successful applicants, will be groomed at a boot camp created to prepare them for the entertainment industry.
After the boot camp, 12 finalists will be unveiled to compete for the ultimate prize of 100,000GHC.
Contestants will also be offered access to digital tools, to promote themselves using MTN Digital platforms and social media.
