For satisfactory reasons, its about time our entertainment industry particularly radio stations, event organizers, pillars upon which the industry rests its shoulders and other stakeholders to level up their respect for DJs. Truth is, for some period most people don’t take the time to appreciate the professions of DJs. Anybody can play music, but to be a professional DJ means you can blend tracks together smoothly so there’s no pause or transition between songs. They are not limited to just pumping and providing entertainment or pleasing crowds at event venues,they as well bring people together and contribute to making songs from various artists hit songs.
With the above been said, CEO of Speech Production, Enoch Agyapong who has under his wings two global exports Kiyo Dee and Fatau Keita in a Facebook post lamented on the importance of radio owners, events organizers and other stakeholders in the creative industry consider or reconsider paying DJs as well as fixing the log in system to monetize intellectual properties of artists to aid in paying them their deserved royalties.
The post reads;
“Radio Owners please pay your DJs well.
Radio Owners please pay your Royalties.
Ghamro please fix the login system.
Event Organizers please pay the artist their due.
Producers are now selling Bread
Executive Producers are selling phones
Artist are dying Broke.
The cycle is breaking down.
Every Artist will love to show his DJs some appreciation so that he can get more love from the DJs but where is that appreciation coming from.
